After 12 long years of Italian bureaucracy and works (which lasted 4 years in total), la “Via dell’Amore” is open again for public 😊
I had the opportunity being a CinqueTerre resident, to walk on it before the opening day and I must say, I was very curious 😊
Here below you find pictures which show the “new look” of this old path between Riomaggiore and Manarola, which was the pedestrian road that connected the two villages and was used for the new rail construction.
It doesn’t really look like the one I was used to run across and it has lost lots of authentic features that they made it so unique, but the chosen materials and the fortifications works on the rocks are a very well made work !!
The stunning views of the cliffs and the crystal clear water make it certainly one of the most beautiful path in the world !!! The “graffiti wall” (our graffiti was also there !!) disappeared of course ….but I’m pretty sure somebody else will start soon again 👍🏻😉😊 and the look of before will be
To walk on it from now in, you need to book in advance or buy a ticket at the entrance of the path in Riomaggiore.
In Monterosso, you can get informations at the CinqueTerrePoint (first platform at the railway station) or book online on the website of Parco Nazionale 5Terre.
Enjoy your walk on one of the most famous path in the world and keep in your memories for longtime all the fantastic views you will get along 😀
